Aloha!

My name is Tiana Wilbur and I’m the daughter of Kalei and Darlene Wilbur. I am also a proud mother of four beautiful boys. I have been a resident of our Waianae Moku since infancy.

This movement of political participation started when my son was denied kindergarten attendance despite the need for medical safety and our freedom of choice. As I continued to stand up for the sake of my son, I witnessed a complete overreaching of the system. I reached out to our current representatives with no results.  I consistently attempted to ask for help and direction but I ended up at dead ends. In my search for a personal answer, I saw the need of my community. Eventually, I was reminded about the neighborhood board and to my surprise there were vacancies. I ended up participating and elected to serve my community. As I humbly became engaged in the positive improvements, I continued to experience and encounter the lack of representation we were receiving. This compelled me to run for office for State House Representative District 45.

My vision for our Waianae coast:

  • Bring in measures to bring back in person voting or accountability to ensure the vote is accountable and repeal ACT 136, fight to ensure that the constituents' votes are accounted for

  • Introduce measures that halt caucasus or groups to form bills that remove our participation and involvement to our children’s well being and academic careers

  • Collaborate with our keiki and kupuna to engage and pass on mana’o from generation to generation. To raise our keiki and work with current leadership programs in place to teach our keiki how to be leaders but more specifically learn the process and  functions of our legislative branches in detail. To encourage and engage interest and desires of public service.

  • To grow our community to new heights to know that we don’t need to rely on government systems. That we can be Entrepreneurs (employers not employees) within our community. This will be a multi benefit because it will increase jobs and revenue within our coast. This also includes having hands-on trades training and apprenticeship programs such as farming.

  • Encourage our community to start their own victory gardens where they would champion their own crops in their own backyards or if they don’t have access to a yard then create a community Garden or work with current farms such as Ka’ala Farm for families to adopt and care for their own sections. Increasing education on the importance of being self-sustaining and not depending on shipments and transports to bring the majority of our livelihood.

These are just some of the many ideas and ways we can work together as a community toward a prosperous future. It would be a great honor and privilege to have your vote and to serve you as your district representative.
